Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Cluster Operations Leader to guide senior infrastructure teams across Data Center Operations and Data Center Engineering Operations.

You will oversee safety, security, availability, scaling, and cost, while driving continuous improvements and capitalizing on global scale. As a senior leader, you will manage data center clusters and colocation operations, coordinate with security teams, and partner with global partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant management experience in Data Centers operations, facility engineering operations, information technology critical environment facilities, or similar.
• Proven ability to hire, develop and manage high-performing geographically distributed technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Substantial knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in a critical or controlled environment.
• Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure domains such as compute/server platforms, storage, network devices, and IT service delivery principles.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and develop the operations team, including compute and engineering operations managers, and their teams.
• Achieve organizational performance goals for safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency, and cost.
• Plan and execute Infrastructure Operations for new Data Centers and Colocation expansions.
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in Amazon Data Centers, including maintenance and change management.
• Manage Colocation Data Centers service providers to meet or exceed contracted SLAs.
• Lead safety, security, and availability incident response, management, and resolution.
• Improve operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools continuously.
