Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced Data Center Architect to design complex infrastructure spanning physical and cloud data centers, networks, compute, storage, middleware, and telephony.

You will lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, manage capacity planning, and collaborate with vendors and IT partners to deliver scalable, resilient solutions. The Hybrid-Flex work model allows remote work with planned in-person collaboration; onsite expectations will be discussed during interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in data center or IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs supporting network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to ensure infrastructure capabilities meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware and software performance standards to ensure scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Serve as an infrastructure subject matter expert, providing deep technical guidance on emerging technologies and partnering with key technology vendors.
• Lead and contribute to software and hardware licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives to ensure efficient adoption and operation of datacenter technologies.
• Proactively consult with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors impacted by network and data center infrastructure decisions.
