Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington seeks a Senior Data & Automation Analyst to lead data visualization, analytics, and workflow automation for the Office of Research and Innovation. This hands-on builder translates business workflows into automated solutions that improve decision-making and efficiency.

Collaborate with ORI leaders and IT to design data models, adopt AI tools, and ensure governance across research operations and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3 years of BI/data warehouse experience or 7 years total experience.
• Experience gathering and documenting reporting requirements from executives and operations.
• 2+ years of warehousing reporting tools to design reports/visualizations (Oracle, Microsoft, Tableau, Power BI or SAS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, analytics, and automated workflows.
• Interact with ORI Leaders to identify reporting needs.
• Design reporting data models to support ORI reporting needs.
• Champion adoption of AI and low-code tools to automate tasks.
• Audit, catalog, and label operational transaction records for data migration.
• Evaluate data models for accuracy and performance.
• Document field definitions, business logic, and SOPs for governance.
• Maintain SOPs, policy summaries, FAQs, and AI tool guidance.
• Ensure content is current and properly tagged per governance standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
