Job summary

UT Dallas is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence and Data Visualization to lead an enterprise capability that translates institutional data into clear, actionable insights for university leaders and stakeholders.

The role collaborates with OISDS, the Data Warehousing team, and campus colleagues to design executive dashboards, briefs, and visualization standards, driving data storytelling and strategic decision support across the University.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive experience in data analytics or BI.
Master’s degree preferred in Data Analytics, Data Visualization, or related field.
Experience in higher education institutional research, planning, strategy, or decision support.
Proven ability to translate complex data into executive-level visuals and narratives.
Experience with data storytelling and information design for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Lead the unit’s new and evolving BI team within OISDS and develop data visualizations and decision-support tools.
Collaborate with the Data Warehousing and IT teams to enhance data models and deployment processes.
Design and deliver executive dashboards, briefs, and reports for university leadership and stakeholders.
Supervise and mentor the BI Analyst (Data Visualization) and oversee multiple projects.
Establish and advance standards, templates, and best practices for data visualization and storytelling.
