Peraton Labs in Herndon, VA seeks a Senior Analytics & Visualization Engineer to design and develop decision-support dashboards that transform aviation, operations, schedules, risks, and data into clear, trusted insights for the BNATCS CTO DCC team.

You will blend dashboard development, analytics, product thinking, and stakeholder communication to prototype AI-enabled workflows, validate outputs, and present recommendations to technical and executive audiences.

Qualifications

8+ years with BS/BA or 6+ years with MS/MA or 3+ years with PhD in Data Science, CS, Analytics, or related field
Hands-on proficiency with Python, SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, R, or similar languages
Proficiency with one or more dashboard or visualization platforms
Experience with relational data, JSON, CSV, Parquet, APIs, and cloud-hosted datasets
Strong understanding of data visualization, information hierarchy, user interaction, and dashboard usability
Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted code generation, and human-in-the-loop review
Experience developing production-quality dashboards or decision-support products
Experience defining and validating metrics, KPIs, analytical logic, and trend analyses
Experience translating stakeholder needs into analytical requirements and outputs
Ability to inspect, validate, and troubleshoot AI-generated outputs
Strong communication of findings to senior leaders and stakeholders
US Citizenship with ability to obtain FAA Public Trust

Responsibilities

Translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into dashboard concepts, product requirements, metrics, and workflows
Define KPIs, thresholds, scoring logic, and analytical methods for Digital Command Center products
Assess data quality, completeness, consistency, timeliness, lineage, and usability
Analyze structured and semi-structured data to identify trends and decision-relevant insights
Partner with data teams, systems engineers, AI/ML scientists, and stakeholders to ensure data quality and traceability
Define dashboard information architecture, navigation, filters, drilldowns, and alerts
Design, develop, test, and maintain dashboards and analytical apps using AI, low-code tools, and traditional coding
Validate AI-generated code, queries, calculations, metrics, visualizations, and narratives
Create clear data narratives explaining what happened and actions to take
Lead dashboard demos, reviews, and stakeholder briefings
Gather user feedback and translate into enhancements and backlog items
Contribute to dashboard standards, reusable templates, and product docs
