Job summary

Plante Moran seeks a data architecture leader to partner with stakeholders, design scalable analytics solutions, and guide engineering teams. You will define target-state architectures, govern data pipelines, and drive best practices across the data platform using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Power BI.

You will mentor a small team, ensure secure data flows, and balance performance with cost while aligning to enterprise standards and governance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related area required.
• 5-8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or related technical roles.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions from discovery through production.
• Strong hands-on with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Factory, OneLake, semantic models).
• Experience designing modern lakehouse/warehouse/data integration using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Databricks, Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, SQL/T-SQL, PySpark, Spark-based processing.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, Medallion Architecture, data lifecycle, pipeline reliability.
• Experience establishing engineering standards for data pipelines, source control, CI/CD, testing, observability, and ops support.
• Familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, API integrations, data governance/ lineage concepts, and legacy platforms like Informatica and SSIS.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders and technology teams to understand objectives and align on data analytics solutions.
• Lead discovery and solution design, including requirements, risks, success criteria, target-state architecture, data flows, integration, and roadmaps.
• Design scalable, secure, governed architectures using Microsoft Fabric and related platforms.
• Establish and reinforce architecture standards, Medallion Architecture, CI/CD, testing, observability, and ops requirements.
• Provide technical leadership across initiatives, translating designs into delivery plans and guiding teams.
• Evaluate tradeoffs on scalability, performance, cost, security, governance, and long-term support.
• Serve as trusted advisor for complex decisions and navigate ambiguity with stakeholders.
• Mentor and supervise a small data engineering team and promote responsible use of AI productivity tools.
