Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Austin, TX is seeking an Advanced Crash Data Analyst (Data Analyst IV or V) to support analytics for the Traffic Safety Division. You will analyze crash data, create dashboards, and provide data-driven recommendations to reduce traffic crashes across the state.

The role reports to the CDA Section Director and is based at the new Southeast Austin headquarters. The position requires experience with large datasets, data visualization platforms like

Qualifications

• Performs complex data analysis and data research work.
• Translates complex statistical findings into technical reports, executive summaries, and actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Uses advanced data analytics platforms to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards for leadership and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets using CRIS and the Enterprise Data Warehouse to identify traffic safety trends.
• Categorize and evaluate crash data by identifiers to support district safety plans.
• Utilize Numetric and Tableau to design and maintain dashboards for executives and safety engineers.
• Clean, validate, and prune data to ensure data integrity and compliance with reporting guidelines.
• Prepare reports and provide technical justification and summaries for stakeholders.
• Lead or mentor junior analysts as needed.
