Position Information

TxDOT is looking for a Data Analytics Administrator Intern to help support the administration, governance, and day-to-day operation of its enterprise analytics environment. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the administration and operation of enterprise analytics platforms, including user access support, workspace and project maintenance, platform documentation, governance practices, and customer support activities. The intern will also be exposed to emerging AI and ML-enabled platform capabilities used to support analytics administration, automation, and service delivery.
Preference will be given to students enrolled in an Information Science, Data Analytics, Management of Information Systems, or similar program at any level. This is a paid internship that would be part-time (20 hours per week) during the school year and full time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
The chosen candidate must be able to report in person to our Austin, Tx Stassney Campus for the duration of their internship.

Performs entry-level administrative and technical support work for the Information Technology Division at the Austin Stassney Campus. Work involves assisting with the administration and operation of TxDOT's enterprise analytics platform environment, including reviewing support tickets, maintaining user access records, supporting workspace and project organization, monitoring scheduled data refreshes, documenting platform procedures, and helping track platform usage and customer support trends. The position uses standard office and computer equipment, including a desktop or laptop computer, Microsoft Office applications, Teams, email, ticketing or service-management tools, and approved analytics platform administration tools. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.
Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.
Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include a trade/vocational school.
Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools.
