Job summary

payabl. is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to turn payment data into decisions for Product, Risk, Finance and Sales. You will own the analysis and insights, building dashboards that people actually use while collaborating with data engineers who own the platform.

You will work with a modern data stack to investigate performance questions, prepare clean datasets, and automate recurring reporting, delivering actionable findings to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL, including window functions, CTEs, aggregation logic, and ability to reason about query performance on large datasets
• Python for analysis, including pandas and visualization libraries, and SciPy or equivalent for stats
• Experience with relational/analytical databases, incl PostgreSQL; exposure to Druid/ClickHouse/BigQuery is a plus
• Experience building dashboards in BI tools (Superset, Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik)
• Notebook-based analysis (JupyterHub/Jupyter) and Git-based workflows

Responsibilities

• Investigate payment performance questions end-to-end across gateways, issuers, merchants; explain why changes occurred
• Prepare datasets by filtering, handling missing values, validating quality for reliable conclusions
• Apply statistics to identify patterns and quantify real changes vs noise
• Build and maintain Superset dashboards and Druid data cubes used daily by stakeholders
• Prepare recurring internal/regulatory reports with accuracy, traceability and on-time delivery
• Automate recurring analysis and reporting to scale with business needs
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders with clear, evidence-based messaging
• Partner with other departments to translate questions into actionable analytics
