Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to lead production-grade data and AI solutions for customers, owning architecture and end-to-end implementation across data engineering, AI, and applications.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, with travel about 20%. 6+ years in data/analytics or software, proficiency in Python/Scala/JS, multi-cloud exposure, and Databricks certification are preferred.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
Proficient coding in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Cloud experience in two or more ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with depth in at least one.
Deep experience with distributed computing and Spark runtime internals.
Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs.

Responsibilities

Lead production-grade solutions from design to deployment.
Architect reference architectures and data ingestion/ML model integration.
Collaborate with engineering, product and customer teams to deliver
Guide customers on architecture and design while ensuring security and scalability.
Collaborate with support to provide feedback and rapid issue resolution.
Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
