Job summary

Databricks in the United States is seeking a Sr Forward Deployed Engineer to own architecture, design decisions, and end-to-end systems that solve data and AI challenges on the Databricks platform. This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and requires delivering production-grade solutions with strong customer empathy.

You will lead integration with client systems, train teams, and partner with engineering, product, and developer relations to shape delivery strategy, drive adoption, and scale

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Experience with MLOps and ML/AI models.
• Strong design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience managing technical delivery and stakeholder alignment.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Willingness to travel 20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade delivery of data and AI solutions and build reference architectures.
• Guide transformational big data projects end-to-end with customers and engagement managers.
• Bootstrap and implement customer projects to drive adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagement components.
• Provide product and implementation feedback with engineering and support.
• Embed with customer teams across roles to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices across accounts.
