Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to build and productionize data & AI solutions using the Databricks platform.

You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, curiosity, and the ability to deliver with strong customer empathy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python/Scala/JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with strong depth in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: Lead production-grade systems, reference architectures, custom apps and data ingestion/ML model integration.
• Transformational Impact: Guide customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI projects.
• Empower Customers: Advise on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement customer projects for adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: Lead architecture decisions for secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure delivery meets customer requirements and provide feedback for product improvements.
• Engage with customer teams from ICs to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
