Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers to design, implement, and productionize data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development while engaging with customers and cross-functional teams. This hands-on role requires strong engineering skills, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach to drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms or software eng.
• Proficient in Python/Scala/TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Deep Spark experience and knowledge of runtime internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments; familiarity with MLOps.
• Ability to deliver end-to-end data architectures with ML/AI models.
• Experience delivering technical projects and communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects, build reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Guide end-to-end design, build and deploy of big data and AI apps.
• Coach customers on architecture and enable adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide product feedback and help resolve issues with support teams.
• Embed with customer teams and manage stakeholder communication.
