Job summary

Starburst is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to partner with field sales, own technical aspects of the sales cycle, and lead customers through demos, PoCs, and architectural discussions. You will be the trusted technical advisor, shaping requirements and delivering value across complex data environments.

You will design deployments, optimize SQL performance, and collaborate with engineering to resolve critical issues.

• Experience in field sales/field consultant roles
• Strong presentation skills and ability to respond dynamically

Responsibilities

• Grow and retain accounts
• Own the technical aspects of the sales cycle with sales teams
• Shape prospect evaluation requirements and define success criteria
• Define and execute customer proof of concept studies
• Be an expert in Starburst products and services
• Design demos, reference architectures, and integrations
• Perform system and SQL performance tuning and migrations
• Advise on architecture, deployment, and design discussions
• Serve as primary customer-facing technical resource during evaluations
• Voice of the customer during internal product engineering
• Collaborate with Engineering and Support on critical issues
• Develop field best practices and internal knowledge base
• Travel up to 25% for onboarding, events, and engagements
