Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Data & AI Platform in the United States. You will be among the first engineers on a new US-based team, defining dataset relationships, metrics, and reusable components used by analytics products.

You will prototype how shared metrics are versioned, ship the first shared component with product teams, and help set engineering habits and governance across data platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of software design and secure coding.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud deployments.
• Proficient in SQL and at least one modern language (Python/Java/C#).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and release shared services, libraries, and pipelines.
• Partner with product managers to understand problems and simplify solutions.
• Create clear design proposals with trade-offs.
• Evaluate technologies to inform build-versus-buy decisions.
• Develop reusable interfaces with documentation and automated testing.
• Build secure, scalable, observable components and support incidents.
• Participate in reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to roadmap.
