Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, architect end-to-end data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform, and drive production-ready delivery with strong customer empathy.

You will lead design decisions, own architecture, and work with cross-functional teams to ship scalable data pipelines, ML/AI models, and embedded applications while traveling 20% to client sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Knowledge of ML/AI models and MLOps concepts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade delivery of customer projects with reference architectures and data ingestion pipelines.
• Design end-to-end data architectures combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user interfaces.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet engagement goals.
• Travel to customers ~20% of the time.
