Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Data and AI Engineer with 7+ years of experience to design, develop, and optimize enterprise data platforms using Oracle, SQL Server, Python, and ETL tools. The role emphasizes data integration, AI-assisted development, and scalable data pipelines across business lines.

You will work with Business Analysts, UI teams, and Production Support to deliver data solutions, implement retrieval and search capabilities, and ensure governance and security in production

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Oracle and SQL Server database development.
• Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
• Experience with database architecture and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with ETL development (SSIS).
• Python development including backend/API work (FastAPI desirable).
• Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, and search techniques.
• Experience with AI productionization and orchestration practices.
• Autosys job scheduling and workflow management.

Responsibilities

• Leads story refinement and delivery of requirements through the delivery lifecycle and assists team members in resolving technical complexities.
• Codes complex solutions to integrate, clean, transform, and control data, builds data pipelines and data quality controls.
• Leads documentation of system requirements and collaborates with teams to understand data needs and feasibility.
• Leads testing efforts and develops test plans including integration and performance testing.
• Guides data management standards and communicates solutions for complex problems.
• Leads complex IT projects to ensure on-time delivery and builds data pipelines for data-informed decisions.
• Mentors Data Engineers and monitors KPIs and internal controls.
• Designs and maintains Oracle and SQL Server database solutions, including objects like tables and stored procedures.
• Develops complex SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
• Designs and implements ETL processes using SSIS and Python.
• Builds Python-based backend services and APIs (FastAPI or similar) to support data and AI integrations.
• Designs integration using retrieval solutions with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector searches.
• Assesses embeddings storage and retrieval across Elasticsearch or similar systems.
• Contributes to agentic workflows with LangChain/LangGraph where applicable.
• Productionizes AI solutions with testing, observability, security, governance, and deployment.
• Automates data processing with Autosys and other workflow tools.
