Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Senior Data & AI Engineer to lead client-facing AI initiatives, develop advanced machine learning and large language models, and drive solution design from scoping through deployment. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven results.

You will leverage frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn, work in Jupyter environments, and engage in pre-sales activities to help educate stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in data science with ML/deep learning focus.
• Strong Python coding skills for scalable, maintainable code.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn for custom models.
• Hands-on with Jupyter Notebooks, Azure ML Studio, Azure OpenAI, AWS SageMaker and DGX platforms.
• Familiarity with major model providers (LLama, Claude, OpenAI).
• Understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and deep learning concepts.
• Knowledge of generative AI concepts including fine-tuning, transfer learning, and RAG methods.
• Experience across ML lifecycle: deployment, monitoring, drift detection/retraining, canary testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing project teams and drive delivery of data/AI solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy ML models and large language/agentic models.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and SMEs to translate business needs into data science solutions.
• Contribute to pre-sales activities: scoping, estimation, solution design.
• Educate clients on data science concepts and best practices.
• Mentor junior AI engineers and share technical guidance.
