Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to drive strategic planning and hands-on engineering of Big Data and cloud environments that support clients' analytics and data platform initiatives. You will design, build, and support data environments in public clouds or multi-cloud architectures, and lead projects with leadership presentation skills.

The role requires hands-on technical expertise and collaboration with project teams, with on-site and remote work options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional technical experience.
• 4+ years of Data Architecture and Data Modelling.
• 4+ years building scalable data solutions with Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake.
• 4+ years programming in Python.
• 2+ years cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong client-facing communication and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, secure, and monitor data processing systems.
• Create robust pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured data into analytical platforms using batch and streaming on cloud-native tools.
• Implement applications using Kinesis, Lambda, and other cloud-native tools for streaming use cases.
• Engineer and support data structures including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Maintain ELT processes for loading data lake (Snowflake, Cloud Storage, Hadoop).
• Develop APIs to expose data to Enterprise Applications.
• Choose appropriate tools to deliver testable, maintainable data solutions.
• Respond to customer/team inquiries and help troubleshoot challenges.
• Collaborate with Scrum team to estimate and deliver work in sprints.
• Research data questions, identify root causes, and engage with business users and technical resources.
