Job summary

GFT is seeking a Dam Engineer to join our Texas-based team. The role supports dam engineering across structural, geotechnical, or hydrologic aspects, leading medium-to-large projects with strong client interaction. Expertise with dam safety, hydraulics, and project leadership is essential.

The candidate will design dam embankments and hydraulic structures, perform hydrology/hydraulic analyses, and oversee QA/QC across projects. A PE license and 8+ years in related fields are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
• PE license required or able to obtain.
• 8+ years of experience in civil, water resources, dam safety, or hydraulic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Designing and analyzing dam embankments and flood control structures focusing on seepage, slope stability, and dam safety.
• Designing and analyzing reinforced concrete hydraulic structures such as spillways, outlet works, and stilling basins.
• Analyze hydrology and hydraulic design criteria for reservoirs and floodways, including dam break hazard analyses and reservoir routing.
• Lead large/complex engineering assignments and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare proposals, client management, and QA/QC reviews.
