Job summary

GFT in Texas is seeking a Dam Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. You will lead dam safety analyses, hydrology and hydraulic design, and complex structural evaluations on medium-to-large projects across the Texas region.

This role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, a PE license, 8+ years of dam or hydraulic engineering experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8 and EPA SWMM. You will mentor staff and coordinate with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of civil, water resources, dam safety, or hydraulic experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, EPA SWMM.
• Knowledge of dam safety principles and water resources design.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium-to-large projects and manage teams.
• Design and analyze dam embankments and flood control structures.
• Analyze reinforced concrete hydraulic structures such as spillways.
• Develop design concepts and project criteria.
• Prepare memos, reports, drawings, and specifications.
• QA/QC reviews and client communications.
