Job summary

UW Medicine’s Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Cytogenetic Technologist Specialist to lead cytogenetic and FISH testing, train staff, ensure CAP compliance, and drive quality improvements.

You will prepare specimens, set up cultures, interpret ISCN, and enter results into Pathways, working with the Cytogenetics team; requires a science BS, ASCP Cytogenetics certification, and 2+ years in a cytogenetics lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 15 credit hours in biological or physical science.
• Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Cytogenetics (ASCP).
• Two years of progressively responsible work experience in a Cytogenetics Laboratory (additional 4 years may substitute).

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for cytogenetic and FISH analysis.
• Train staff and ensure CAP compliance and quality control.
• Enter results into Pathways database and interpret reflex testing algorithms.
