Job summary

UW Medicine’s Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technician 2 to support the Cytogenetics Team at UW Medical Center – Montlake. You will prepare specimens, perform FISH/post-wash steps, and assist with quality control and maintenance of lab equipment.

The role requires high school graduation with 2 years of clinical lab experience, strong aseptic technique, and accuracy in data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years clinical or public health lab experience.
• Experience with Epic database entry preferred.
• Knowledge of cytogenetics techniques and lab safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient and lab data into Epic with accuracy.
• Set up and harvest cell cultures using sterile technique.
• Prepare slides and perform FISH and cytogenetic procedures.
• Assist QC/QA and CAP inspection prep.
• Maintain equipment and stock reagents, ensure safe lab conditions.
