Job summary

PAML a Labcorp company in Spokane, WA seeks a Cytogenetic Technologist to perform imaging, FISH, and karyotyping on cytogenetic specimens in a fast-paced setting. You will review requisitions, summarize results with ISCN nomenclature, and ensure accurate interpretation while maintaining safety and quality.

The successful candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or clinical lab science, with at least 1 year of relevant testing experience; ASCP Cytogenetics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience including FISH analysis.
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCPCG) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, which includes imaging, oncology FISH and/or karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment.
