Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a highly qualified laboratory professional to perform benchwork, analysis and reporting of genetic and genomic assays in Cytogenetics. You will supervise under CAP guidelines with significant independence on routine tasks and contribute to quality management and method development.

The role requires a BS in a chemical/biological/clinical or medical laboratory science and CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM certification, plus strong communication and mentoring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree requirements including CLIA high complexity supervisor qualifications will be met.
Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM with CE documentation.
Experience in Cytogenetics/genomics or formal training program with related experience.

Responsibilities

Perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic or genomic assays with high accuracy.
Contribute to quality management, SOPs, and variance review.
Assist with validation efforts and process improvements.
Organize and provide tech oversight in select processes.
Train and orient lab staff; evaluate competency.
