Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), SME to support mission-critical DoD environments and U.S. Space Force missions.

The role focuses on protecting confidential information assets and ensuring secure design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions. The candidate will collaborate with government stakeholders and technical teams, oversee RMF processes, and support risk management efforts while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• 15+ years of experience in DoD/IC cybersecurity or systems security engineering.
• Extensive RMF implementation experience.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, DoD, DAF, and IC policies and standards.
• Experience supporting classified networks and mission environments.
• Experience developing security architectures and ATO activities.
• Proven leadership and SME cybersecurity expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert cybersecurity engineering and strategic guidance for DoD/Space Force programs.
• Design, implement, and assess cybersecurity solutions for classified systems.
• Ensure RMF, NIST, DoD, DAF, and IC compliance across environments.
• Conduct risk analyses and recommend mitigations.
• Lead cross-functional teams and communicate with senior leadership.
