Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to support DoD and Intelligence Community programs, driving secure engineering across complex networks. The candidate will ensure RMF/IA compliance, implement NIST CNSSI guidance, and contribute to A&A workflows.

Responsibilities include modeling security into system architectures, authoring SSPs and SAPs, and coordinating with IA teams, ISSOs, and government security representatives to sustain rigorous protection

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 5+ years in information assurance or cybersecurity engineering for DoD/IC systems.
• Experience with ICD 503 and A&A activities.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53/800-37/800-39/800-30 and CNSSI 1253.
• Experience developing SSPs/SAPs/SARs/POA&Ms.

Responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity engineering support for engineering and operational networks.
• Ensure compliance with IA and cybersecurity requirements per ICD 503 and RMF.
• Support A&A documentation, artifacts, and procedures.
• Engineer and implement security controls per NIST SP 800-53.
• Participate in system categorization, control selection, and continuous monitoring.
• Interface with IA team members, ISSOs/ISSMs, and government security reps.
• Support certification and accreditation activities under ICD 503.
• Ensure cybersecurity is integrated into system design, deployment, and operations.
• Maintain cybersecurity training for assigned systems.
• Provide guidance on security risks and mitigation to leadership.
• Experience supporting IC systems; familiarity with multi-domain security environments.
