Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security architecture across on‑premise and cloud environments, aligning security strategy with business goals and protecting critical data and operations.

You will lead risk assessments, governance, incident response, and third‑party risk, collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams, and mentor security engineers to build a proactive security culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or related field.
• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience with leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture and frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Experience with security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, encryption).
• Cloud security expertise (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and secure Dev/SDLC practices.
• Proven vulnerability management and penetration testing experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA; AWS Certified Security – Specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments across on‑Prem and cloud platforms.
• Architect and implement security controls, emphasizing scaling and defense‑in‑depth.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Develop and maintain an enterprise cybersecurity governance framework.
• Mentor cybersecurity engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Oversee incident response, threat intelligence, and third‑party risk management.
