Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line seeks a senior Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain an enterprise security architecture across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will lead risk assessments, governance, and the deployment of security controls, aligning with NIST, CIS, and industry best practices while enabling business continuity.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with legal and compliance, manage third‑party risk, and drive incident response and threat intelligence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science or related field.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership or architect experience.
• Deep knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS and enterprise security.
• Strong experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy aligned with business goals.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, identity management and data protection.
• Implement security controls for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure with defense‑in‑depth focus.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity governance, policies and standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Lead incident response, threat intelligence, and third‑party risk management.
• Mentor cybersecurity engineers and ensure effective security training.
• Engage with legal/compliance for incident reporting and regulatory adherence.
