Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a robust cybersecurity architecture across the enterprise. You will guide strategic security initiatives, governance, and risk management while partnering with senior leaders to align security with business goals.

You will lead vulnerability management, incident response, and vendor risk programs, ensuring compliant, secure IT operations across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with at least 5 years in leadership or as a cybersecurity architect.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS) and large enterprise experience.
• Experience with security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, encryption).
• Cloud security expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) including IAM and cloud-native security services.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, and data protection.
• Architect security controls for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments of technologies and applications.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity governance framework and standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to define strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, CCPA, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA and related regulations.
• Monitor threats and guide proactive risk mitigation.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and third‑party risk management.
