Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will lead strategy, governance, and incident response, balancing risk with business needs in a large logistics organization.

You will guide security controls, threat intelligence, and vendor risk while collaborating with senior leadership to align security with OD’s objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with at least 5 in leadership or as an architect.
• Deep knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS; large enterprise experience.
• Strong experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, encryption.
• Cloud security expertise across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud; IAM and cloud-native security services.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in logistics/transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a cybersecurity architecture strategy aligned with business goals.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, endpoints, IAM, and data protection with governance.
• Oversee security controls for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure with defense‑in‑depth.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with standards (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Manage vulnerability assessments, pen testing, and remediation processes.
• Define incident response framework and lead response activities with cross‑team collaboration.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and communications for proper incident reporting.
