Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture across the enterprise. You will lead security strategy, guide technical solutions, and ensure controls mitigate risks for critical systems.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to define security objectives, oversee SIEM/IDS/IPS deployments, and drive governance, policy, and training across the organization for secure software development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in a leadership/architect role.
• Deep knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, encryption.
• Cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and IAM.
• Vulnerability management, pen testing, risk management.
• DevSecOps and secure SDLC expertise.
• Certifications like CISSP/CISM/CISA or AWS Security – Specialty are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, and data protection.
• Oversee security controls for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments for technologies and software.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity governance, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on risk appetite and incident response.
