Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a senior Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and govern a comprehensive security architecture across on‑prem and cloud environments. You’ll set security strategy, standards, and roadmaps that align with business goals and regulatory needs.

In this leadership role, you’ll lead risk assessments, oversee vulnerability management, incident response, and security operations, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS) and enterprise security.
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, and encryption.
• Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments and systems with defense-in-depth.
• Architect and implement security controls for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct risk assessments of technologies and software applications.
• Develop and maintain a cybersecurity governance framework.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Lead incident response efforts and ensure proper escalation and reporting.
