Job summary

Truist is seeking a senior risk leader in Raleigh, NC to provide independent LoD2 oversight for technology risk across cybersecurity defense, detection, incident response, and related controls. This onsite role supports a 1st shift with a base salary target of USD 185,000 - 230,000 per year.

You will act as SME for the Cybersecurity Risk Framework and lead complex risk assessments while partnering with Protection Services and business units to drive secure, compliant technology outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years of banking, technology, operations, or risk management experience.
• Strong business acumen, management experience, problem solving, critical thinking, influencing, and decision‑making.
• Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and deliver value.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with credibility across management levels.
• Proven ability to organize and manage complex initiatives and produce executive‑level work products.
• Comfort working with data and applying analysis to generate value‑add insights.
• Adept with Microsoft Office products.
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, Risk Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent risk oversight for LoD2 across Protection Services and related domains.
• Act as SME and steward of the Cybersecurity Risk Framework focusing on defense, detection, incident response, and controls.
• Perform independent assessment of maturity and adequacy of cybersecurity controls to support business outcomes.
• Support proactive risk culture through governance routines with technology teams and senior partners.
• Review and challenge outcomes of first‑line risk program execution.
• Monitor legal, regulatory, compliance, and audit matters for assigned oversight areas.
• Lead complex projects with enterprise impact and provide informal leadership.
• Bridge risk, business, technology, and cybersecurity across advisory and implementation modes.
