Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney for a fully remote role. Based in the United States, the position leads incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy and guides breach response from start to finish.

You will work with senior management, draft notices, and supervise associates, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, GDPR. 8+ years of legal experience and strong writing skills are required.

Qualifications

• JD required; Bar in good standing; 8+ years of legal experience.
• 5+ years in data privacy and security, focusing on data breach and incident response.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR etc; IT background a plus.
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
• Take lead in responding to clients and carriers and oversee breach response by associates.
• Interact with senior management and technical personnel at client companies.
• Draft notices of data breaches to individuals and regulators; respond to regulatory investigations.
• Defend privacy lawsuits and draft policies under HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, GDPR.
• Triaging data breaches and advising clients from start to finish; oversee forensics and third-party vendors.
