Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney to lead complex cybersecurity and data privacy matters. The role is fully remote with flexibility to align with clients nationwide and potential reporting to regional offices.

You will manage breach response efforts, interact with executives, and guide forensics and regulatory communications while leveraging deep privacy law knowledge.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and bar admission in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience with focus on data privacy and security.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
• Oversee breach response work by associates and coordinate with clients and carriers.
• Interact with senior management and technical personnel at client companies.
• Draft breach notices to individuals and regulators and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Oversee forensics investigations and third-party vendors in e-Discovery and data notice projects.
• Advise clients on regulatory obligations and prepare crisis communications.
