Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney for a fully remote role. The position is open to applicants nationwide, with the New Orleans area as a possible hub. The attorney will lead breach response, advise on privacy statutes, and supervise junior staff while coordinating with clients and carriers.

Applicants should have 8+ years of legal experience, a JD, and bar admission, plus strong data privacy and incident response knowledge. A technical background is a plus.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school; must be admitted to the Bar.
• 8+ years of legal experience with 5+ years in data privacy and incident response.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• IT or technical background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
• Oversee breach response work by Associates.
• Interact with clients' senior management and technical teams.
• Draft notices, responses, and crisis communications.
• Oversee forensics, e-Discovery, and vendor relationships.
• Prepare legal budgets and reports.
• Supervise junior team members.
