Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney for a fully remote position based in the United States. The role involves handling cybersecurity and data privacy incident responses, leading breach management, and interfacing with clients, carriers, regulators, and internal teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of legal experience, a JD, admission to the bar, and deep knowledge of data breach laws (HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR).

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience with focus on data privacy and incident response.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR.
• IT or technical background is a plus.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
• Oversee breach response work by associates and manage client communications.
• Interact with clients, carriers, and senior management; draft notices and regulatory responses.
