Job summary

Dexcom seeks a Staff Cyber Defense Engineer to join the Information Security team. You will design, implement, and optimize enterprise cyber defense capabilities across detection, response, hunting, automation, and readiness, mentoring junior engineers.

You will lead complex investigations, develop telemetry pipelines, and build automation to reduce manual effort, working with SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, and cloud security technologies in a global health‑tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.
• 8–12 years of related experience; or Master’s with 5–7 years; PhD with 2–4 years.
• Strong hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, NDR, and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise cyber defense capabilities across detection, response, hunting, automation, and readiness.
• Lead complex investigations and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop telemetry integrations, playbooks, and automation to improve response consistency.
• Operate and improve detection content across environments throughout full lifecycle.
