Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Sr Staff Cyber Defense Engineer to serve as a hands-on architect, technical lead, and senior authority. You will influence roadmap, design architecture, and drive complex initiatives across detection, response, and readiness.

The role requires deep expertise in SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, and threat intelligence, with a focus on scalable security in cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 13+ years related experience, or a Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years.
• Experience leading complex cyber defense initiatives across organizational boundaries.
• Deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, threat intelligence, incident response.
• Experience with AI/ML in detection, investigation, or automated response including oversight.

Responsibilities

• Influence technical strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Cyber Defense.
• Serve as technical authority for cyber defense architecture and telemetry standards.
• Own detection engineering lifecycle including rules, telemetry, validation.
• Design and engineer cyber defense capabilities with SOAR and agentic response.
• Lead cross-functional cyber defense initiatives and transformations.
• Provide senior technical leadership during complex cyber incidents.
• Define approach for threat hunting and adversary validation using intel and red/purple team findings.
• Drive readiness engineering through exercises and playbook validation.
• Mentor engineers and analysts to strengthen technical maturity.
