Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Sr. Staff Cyber Defense Engineer to join the Information Security team in a remote US-based role. You will serve as hands-on architect, technical lead, and senior authority across detection, response, hunting, automation, and readiness.

You will influence roadmaps and drive complex cross-functional initiatives. You bring deep expertise in SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, cloud security, and threat intelligence, plus strong scripting in Python/PowerShell, and a track record of guiding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• 13+ years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 8+ years; PhD with 5+ years may apply.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Influence the technical strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Cyber Defense capabilities.
• Serve as a technical authority for cyber defense architecture and engineering practices.
• Own the enterprise detection engineering lifecycle with telemetry and validation.
• Design cyber defense capabilities including detections and SOAR workflows.
• Lead major cross-functional cyber defense initiatives and technology transformations.
• Provide senior technical leadership during complex incidents and lessons learned.
• Define approach for threat hunting and adversary validation using intel and simulations.
• Drive cyber readiness engineering with playbooks and testing.
• Mentor engineers and analysts to raise technical maturity.
