Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Senior Cyber Defense Leader to shape the Enterprise Cyber Defense program, guiding architecture, telemetry, and incident response across large-scale cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.

You will own the detection engineering lifecycle from logic to validation, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional projects with senior leadership support. Strong emphasis on telemetry, automation, and security tooling is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• 13+ years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 8+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent advanced security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy for Enterprise Cyber Defense capabilities.
• Own the enterprise detection engineering lifecycle: detection logic, correlation rules, telemetry requirements, validation, tuning and measurable efficacy.
• Design and engineer cyber defense capabilities including advanced detections, telemetry integrations, SOAR workflows and agentic response patterns with human oversight.
• Lead major cross-functional cyber defense initiatives and technology transformations.
• Provide senior technical leadership during complex cyber incidents and drive root-cause analysis and durable defensive improvements.
• Translate technical risk for senior leaders and mentor engineers and analysts to strengthen technical maturity.
