Job summary

Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. (WEMCO, Inc.) seeks a Certified Welding Inspector to ensure welded components meet quality standards. You will inspect materials using UT/MT, perform visual and dimensional checks, and maintain inspection records.

The role requires Level II MT/UT certifications, AWS D1.1 knowledge, and at least 5 years in manufacturing QA. Collaboration with production, engineering, and third-party inspectors is essential to uphold ISO 9001/AS9100 quality

Qualifications

Certified Welding Inspector with current QC1 certification.
Level II MT and UT certifications.
In-depth knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and specifications.
Minimum 5 years of quality inspection in manufacturing.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
ISO 9001, AS9100 knowledge preferred.
AWS D14.1 knowledge a plus.
Proficiency in creating Inspection Records and Quality Reports.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections and tests on materials and products using UT and MT methods.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections in compliance with AWS standards.
Carry out final checks of materials before leaving the fab shop.
Prepare, maintain, and file accurate inspection records.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams and third-party inspectors.
Identify defects and assist in corrective actions.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
Provide training and guidance on inspection procedures.
Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
