Job summary

Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. (WEMCO, Inc.) is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to ensure the quality and integrity of welded components through inspection and analysis processes in our Spokane facility.

The role emphasizes adherence to AWS standards and rigorous documentation. The successful candidate will inspect materials and finished products, maintain inspection records, and collaborate with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector with current AWS QC1 certification.
• Level II MT and UT certifications required.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards.
• Minimum 5 years quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and tests on materials and products using UT and MT methods.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections per AWS standards.
• Carry out final material checks before leaving the fab shop.
• Prepare, maintain, and file accurate inspection records.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and third-party inspectors.
• Identify defects and assist in corrective actions.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Provide training and guidance on quality and inspection procedures.
• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
