Job summary

GE HealthCare in the United States is seeking a Lead Customs Specialist to drive U.S. and Canada customs operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and risk mitigation.

You will lead a high-performing team, provide subject matter expertise on trade compliance, and drive data-driven improvements across import processes and systems. You will work with IT and business stakeholders to implement GTM/ERP enhancements, establish broker governance, and develop reporting tools to improve transparency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in Customs/US border expertise.
• 6+ years of experience in Customs / US Border Expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
• Experience with Power BI, Smartsheet, and AI tools.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, import processes, and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives, process improvements, and operational escalations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute U.S. and Canada customs operations strategies ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
• Lead and develop a high-performing customs operations team through coaching and talent development.
• Provide SME guidance on customs regulations, import processes, and trade compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvements to enhance compliance, service levels, productivity, and visibility.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to implement GTM and ERP enhancements and automation solutions.
• Establish broker governance with performance measurement and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to standardize processes and mitigate risk.
