Job summary

Alba Wheels Up is seeking a Senior Customs Brokerage Coordinator in Los Angeles to manage air, truck, and ocean shipments, handle import documentation, and ensure compliance with US regulations. You will coordinate with overseas agents, update CI/CT, and liaise with trucking teams to resolve issues promptly.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in freight forwarding or customs brokerage, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Cargowise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in freight forwarding or customs brokerage.
• Exceptional customer-service communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Proficient in Windows and Office Suite; experience with Cargowise is a plus.
• Customs broker license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process customs brokerage for air, truck, and ocean shipments and other modes of arrival into the USA.
• Receive, review, and process import documentation from overseas agents/clients.
• Secure arrival information from various modes of arrival (air, ocean, truck, rail, etc.).
• Data entry and processing of client import shipments via documentation to U.S. Customs and other agencies.
• Classify imported goods with HTS; apply duties correctly.
• Update shipment status daily in the system.
• Resolve customs-related issues promptly.
• Respond to client inquiries promptly.
• Submit remote filings (RLF).
• Invoice within 48 hours of shipment release.
• Scan documents into the system and manage shipment files.
• Send delivery orders and docs to truckers.
• Communicate with truckers about cargo status and issues.
• Resolve cargo pickup issues and inform clients.
• Secure competitive costs while meeting client requirements.
• Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations.
• Post vendor invoices to payables in the shipment file.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
