Job summary

University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, is seeking a Senior Building & Grounds Worker to lead a squad of custodial staff and student workers, ensuring quality cleaning services. You will train, direct, and support the team while coordinating with the supervisor.

This is not a supervisory role and does not include disciplinary actions. The position operates on the second shift in university facilities, handling routine and project custodial tasks, safety compliance, and equipment care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of custodial work experience.
• Ability to lead others in custodial tasks.
• English reading/writing and communication skills.
• Disciplinary-free record and strong performance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle non-routine cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad of Building & Grounds Workers and Student Workers.
• Train, direct, and support the team; coordinate with supervisor.
• Perform routine and project custodial tasks with safety in mind.
• Handle clocking, time-off requests, and required training.
• Monitor equipment, tools, and supplies; report needs.
