Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a Regular Full-Time Custodian in Dining Services, located in Duluth, MN. The role involves custodial duties across dining areas, restroom sanitation, trash/recycling handling, and furniture setup for university functions.

Responsibilities include following safety procedures, addressing maintenance requests, and responding to calls via radio or pager.

Qualifications

• Read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to stand up for 8-10 hours at a time.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• 2 years of experience in related field.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Floor cleaning in Dining Services areas including kitchen settings.
• Scrub and sanitize restrooms, showers, and locker rooms with approved agents.
• Collect and empty trash and recycling and transport to proper pickup site.
• Set up and move furniture for university functions.
• Note deficiencies and write maintenance requests.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment.
• Monitor radio/telephone or pager and respond to calls.
