Job summary

Raytheon’s Effector-Optics Department in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer to design and analyze cryogenic systems for infrared sensors, lead multi-discipline teams, and support military programs through development and production phases. Onsite role with DoD Secret clearance required.

Minimum 5 years in STEM with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and structural analysis; Pro/Engineer or CREO experience; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in thermodynamic, heat transfer analysis and structural analysis.
• Experience with Pro/Engineer and/or CREO.
• Cryogenics system design familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of high-pressure gas supply assemblies, Joule-Thompson coolers, Stirling coolers, Dewar design, UHV hermetic vessels and sealing techniques.
• Troubleshoot EO Cryogenic systems.
• Work closely with components suppliers.
• Prepare technical justification analysis reports.
• Occasional travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
