Job summary

RTX is seeking a Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer II at its Tucson, AZ campus to design and analyze cryogenic systems used in infrared sensor programs. You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams across the lifecycle from development through production.

The role requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with thermodynamics and cryogenic analysis, and proficiency in Pro/Engineer or CREO. On-site work with occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer analysis, and structural analysis.
• Experience with Pro/Engineer and CREO.
• Experience with fluid, pneumatic, vacuum, cryogenics systems design, analysis, or fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of high-pressure gas supply assemblies, Joule-Thompson coolers, Stirling coolers, Dewar design, UHV vessels and sealing techniques.
• Troubleshoot EO Cryogenic systems.
• Work closely with component suppliers.
• Prepare technical justification analysis reports.
• Occasional travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
